Gopalganj, October 25 (NEWS IN BIHAR). The district administration organized the second phase of training of polling personnel regarding the Bihar Assembly general elections. The objective of this training was to provide practical information about the voting process, responsibilities, and EVM-VVPAT operations to all the personnel deployed for election work, so that there is no possibility of any kind of error or disruption on the polling day.

The first center was CBSE Public School, Basdila, Sadar Block, where a total of 572 polling personnel of Presiding Officer, P1, P2 and P3 categories were trained. The trainers explained the method of setting up polling booth, use of voter list, process of mock poll, and safe storage of EVMs and VVPATs after completion of polling. The second training center is M.M. Urdu High School, built in Turkahan. Here 616 polling personnel from PRO to P3 were trained.

Highlighting the latest instructions of the Election Commission, the trainers emphasized on the importance of voter identification process, convenience of women and disabled voters, and correct filling of various forms. The third training center was held at DAV Plus Public School, Thawe, where around 720 personnel participated. Here detailed information was given on the use of electronic voting machines and voter verifiable paper audit trail.

During the training, the personnel were given practical practice in operation of the machine and resolution of possible technical problems through dummy polling stations. Training video material prepared by the Election Commission of India was displayed on TV sets at all the centres.

The trainers instructed the polling personnel to exercise complete vigilance and neutrality in the election work and strictly follow all the rules of the Commission.

During the training, the participants were also told to ensure that all the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct are followed. Behave decently with voters during voting and protect voter confidentiality in every situation.

Officials said that this time there will be arrangements for 100 percent live webcasting at all the polling centers in the district. Therefore, polling personnel were instructed to reach the center a day before voting and thoroughly check the seating plan, webcasting equipment, and security arrangements.
