East Champaran, 17 October (NEWS IN BIHAR). Sugauli Police has got a big success during the campaign being run by the police with the aim of stopping the drug trade in Sugauli police station area. On the basis of secret information, on Friday, the police team formed under the leadership of Police Station Head Anish Kumar Singh arrested a person with 960 grams of hashish near Sripur SST Point.

The arrested person has been identified as Sanjay Pandit, father Mahant Pandit, resident of Panchbhediya village of Ramgarhwa police station area. Police have also seized a motorcycle (number BR 05 AD 7261) from him.

Police station incharge Anish Kumar Singh said that secret information was received that a person was planning to leave for Nepal with a huge quantity of hashish. As soon as the information was received, the police team launched a vehicle checking operation near Sripur. During the investigation, on suspicion, the said motorcycle was stopped and searched, out of which a total of 960 grams of hashish was recovered. He said that the police took prompt action and arrested the accused on the spot and an FIR has been registered against him under the NDPS Act. Further action is being taken by confiscating the recovered bike and charas.
