Katihar, 23 October . In view of the Bihar Assembly Elections-2025, as per the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, Katihar, intensive vehicle checking is being done continuously in various police station areas of the district for compliance with the Model Code of Conduct and to maintain law and order. In the same sequence, a cash amount of Rs 2,00,000/- was recovered from a car by the SST team in Barsoi police station area.

When the person concerned was requested to present valid documents and proof regarding the recovered amount, he could neither show any document nor give any satisfactory answer. Thereafter, the recovered cash amount was confiscated by preparing a seizure list as per the legal procedure.

Police said that this action is being taken to prevent violation of the Model Code of Conduct and to ensure fair elections. This campaign will be continued by Katihar Police in future also.
