
Bhagalpur, October 13 (NEWS IN BIHAR). Voting is to be held in Bhagalpur on November 11 under the second phase of Bihar Assembly elections. Regarding this, the nomination process has started in Bhagalpur from Monday.
The last date for nomination has been fixed as October 20. In this regard, District Magistrate Dr. Naval Kishore Chaudhary told a press conference at Samiksha Bhavan in Bhagalpur that nominations will not be held on holidays. But despite October 20 being a holiday on Diwali, nominations can be made.
DM said that the administration is fully prepared for the nomination process. All check posts have been opened from today and election observers have also reached Bhagalpur. He said that the election work is being conducted as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
Dr. Chaudhary said that the administration is keeping an eye on every hamlet and locality for peaceful voting. Special surveillance is being kept on those who are suspected to be able to disrupt the election process.
Senior Superintendent of Police Hriday Kant, present at the press conference, said that a total of 11 companies of CRPF have been deployed in Bhagalpur district and Navagachia police district to ensure fair and peaceful voting.
SSP said that presence of people with criminal tendencies is being imposed in the police station areas. In the contemporary operation conducted on Saturday and Sunday, 102 persons have been arrested while 95 warrants have also been executed.
He also said that the police will be fully prepared to maintain peace and order in the district even during Diwali and Kali Puja.
