Patna, October 14 (NEWS IN BIHAR). Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday released the list of 71 candidates for Bihar Assembly elections. The name of the current Speaker of Bihar Assembly Nandkishore Yadav is not included in this list. The party has not given him ticket from Patna Sahib, in his place the party has made Ratnesh Kushwaha its candidate from Patna Sahib.

Along with this, the party has also made Sanjay Gupta its candidate for Kumhrar seat. Arun Kumar Sinha had been contesting elections here for a long time. BJP has given ticket to former Deputy Chief Minister Renu Devi from Bettiah seat. Whereas former minister Nitish Mishra has been made candidate from Jhanjharpur, former minister Neeraj Kumar Bablu from Chhatapur, Sunil Kumar Pintu, who returned from JDU to BJP, has been made candidate from Sitamarhi.

The party has given ticket to former Deputy Chief Minister Tarakeshwar Prasad from Katihar. Former minister Alok Ranjan Jha has been made candidate from Saharsa, Sanjay Saraogi from Darbhanga, Jivesh Mishra from Jale and Health Minister Mangal Pandey from Siwan.

Along with this, Krishna Kumar Mantu, who was a minister in the Nitish government, has been made the candidate from Amanour, Surendra Mehta from Bachhwara, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary from Tarapur, Vijay Kumar Sinha from Lakhisarai, Nitin Naveen from Bankipur, Raghavendra Pratap Singh from Barhara, Sanjay Singh Tiger from Arrah. Prem Kumar has been made the candidate from Gaya and Shreyasi Singh from Jamui.

According to the seat distribution of National Democratic Alliance in Bihar Assembly elections 2025, BJP is contesting on 101 seats. Out of which candidates have been declared for 71 seats in the first list. Announcement of candidates for many seats is still awaited.

Voting is to be held on 121 assembly seats in the first phase. The nomination process for the first phase will end on October 17. Voting is to be held on 6 November.
