Samastipur, October 20 (NEWS IN BIHAR). The sanitation workers of Municipal Council Tajpur went on strike from Sunday, due to which the cleaning work in the entire city has come to a complete halt.
Special preparations were being made for pre-Diwali cleaning, but due to the sudden strike, there were piles of garbage everywhere. According to the information, on Sunday, Executive Officer Zulfekar Ali Pyami had inspected the pond area located in the vegetable market.
During this period, he was accused of misbehaving with the supervisor and employees. In protest, the angry workers threw the garbage filled in the handcart and tractor at the main gate of the Municipal Council office.
The workers have warned that the strike will continue until they get justice. It is said that the executive officer had been posted in Tajpur Municipal Council in the past also, and at that time too there was a dispute with the sweepers and ward councilors.
Cleaning agency director Rajeev Kumar Singh said that after getting information about the matter, talks are being held with the workers. Sanitation Manager Mithun Kumar said that the process of dialogue is going on to end the strike.
On the other hand, Executive Officer Zulfekar Ali Pyami termed all the allegations against him as baseless. He said that the personnel were only reprimanded when deficiencies in cleanliness were found during the inspection.
