Katihar, 20 October (NEWS IN BIHAR). A big development has come to light in the politics of Katihar, Saurabh Agarwal, son of BJP Legislative Council Member (MLC) Ashok Agarwal, has left BJP and joined Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP). Saurabh Aggarwal filed nomination from Katihar Sadar Assembly seat as a candidate of Grand Alliance on Monday. This contest has become a ‘house fight’ as his father is a BJP strategist, while the son is contesting on the opposition ticket.
This move of Ashok Aggarwal is being considered a big blow to the BJP, and there was talk in political circles for a long time about the alleged ‘cold war’ between Ashok Aggarwal and former Deputy Chief Minister cum Katihar MLA Tarkishore Prasad.
After joining the VIP party, Saurabh Aggarwal said, I feel very proud to join the Vikassheel Insaan Party today. I am influenced by the ideals of my family and the policies of the party. I look forward to working and serving the people of Katihar.
It is noteworthy that BJP has fielded former Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad from Sadar Assembly seat. Tarkishore Prasad has been MLA from Katihar assembly seat for four consecutive terms. For the fifth time, BJP has expressed confidence in Tarkishore Prasad.
