
Bettiah, October 13 (NEWS IN BIHAR). On Monday morning, a fire broke out in a hotel in Majhaulia of Bettiah police district in Bihar due to gas leakage while boiling potatoes and the cylinder exploded. Two hotels including a grocery shop were engulfed in the fire.
After receiving the information, Five Brigade reached the spot and tried to extinguish the fire caused by the cylinder blast. While extinguishing the fire, a constable of the fire brigade, Avnish Kumar, got burnt.
In injured condition, he was brought to Majholia Community Center where after first aid the doctors sent him to GMCH Bettiah for better treatment. However, the fire was brought under control. A hotel owned by Sandeep Kumar located in Majhauliya Bazaar, in which potatoes were being boiled, leaked from the gas cylinder, while Ashish’s hotel next door and Suresh Shah’s grocery shop got hit. All the material kept in the shop along with cash and necessary documents were burnt to ashes. The entire Madhya Pradesh was shaken by the explosion caused by the cylinder burst and there was an atmosphere of chaos. Grocery businessman Suresh Sah told that in view of Diwali Chhath, he had bought goods and kept them in the grocery shop, everything got burnt in the fire.
It is said that while extinguishing the fire, Deputy Chief representative Ranjan Kumar Patel, Jitendra Kumar Golu Srivastava, Ashish Kumar etc. were also partially injured.
