Half-giving devotees

Bhagalpur, 28 October . Chhath, the great festival of folk faith, ended in Bhagalpur on Wednesday with the offering of prayers to the rising sun. Today, a large number of devotees gathered across the district to offer prayers to the rising sun.

Apart from Bhagalpur, Sultanganj and Kahalgaon, devotees in some areas of Navgachia gathered on the banks of Ganga and donated Arghya.

People of that area worshiped Lord Surya at Ganga Ghat at Bateshwar place in Kahalgaon and Ajgabinath Ganga Ghat in Sultanganj. Devotees of Navgachia area came to the banks of Ganga in nearby Diara area and offered Arghya to Lord Sun. Due to the presence of a large crowd in Ganga, many devotees celebrated this festival of Sun worship by being present on the banks of the pond, lake and on the rooftops of their homes.

In many places in urban areas, the festival was celebrated by making ponds in their homes, temples and grounds, avoiding crowds. Before the rise of Lord Surya, devotees at all places stood facing Lord Surya, carrying fruits, offerings and worship materials in soup. During this, everyone meditated on Lord Surya and offered Arghya with Ganga water and milk on the side of the soup.

On the other hand, the police administration and the district administration had jointly made arrangements for tight security at all the ghats. SDRF team was deployed with boat in Ganga. Many voluntary organizations were engaged in serving the devotees. Many organizations distributed milk and Ganga water. Many voluntary organizations set up camps on the route to the ghats. Care was taken to ensure that the devotees do not face any problem.
