Patna, 27 October .

The ghats and ponds of entire Bihar, including the capital Patna, have been completely decorated on the occasion of Chhath, the great festival of folk faith. The first Arghya of this great festival of devotion and faith will be offered to the setting Lord Bhaskar in ‘Purvashadha’ constellation on Monday, while Arghya will be offered to the rising Sun in ‘Uttarashadha’ constellation on Tuesday.

Vrati will offer Arghya at 78 ghats in Patna.

Auspicious yogas like ‘Ubhayachar’ and ‘Amalakriti’ are being formed on Tuesday morning, which makes Chhath fast more fruitful. After offering Arghya to the rising sun, the devotees will break the fast by taking Prasad after 36 hours of waterless fast. Pt. Jalbhar Jha told that it is auspicious to offer Arghya half an hour before the setting sun and after the rising sun turns red.

On Sunday, the second day of Chhath fast, ‘Kharna’ puja was completed with great reverence and devotion. The devotees took Arwa rice on banana leaves, Ganga water, milk, kheer made of jaggery, roti and banana as Prasad.

In view of the great festival of Chhath, the administration has tightened security and order throughout Bihar. In the capital Patna, 187 Bluetooth cameras have been installed on 35 major Ganga ghats, in which every activity will be monitored. Chhath fast is observed at 550 ghats of Ganga and its tributaries in Patna district, on which traditions of 444 Sangats are celebrated. Apart from this, Physician Medical Research has also been appointed in the primary health departments of all urban and rural areas so that immediate help can be provided in any state.
