Gopalganj, 14 October (NEWS IN BIHAR). There is political turmoil after ticket distribution in the NDA alliance for Bihar assembly elections. Dissatisfaction and discord have started coming to the fore in both BJP and JDU parties of the district.

If sources are to be believed, many dissatisfied leaders of both the parties may soon resign and sound the alarm of rebellion. Maximum resentment is being seen in Baikunthpur and Gopalganj assembly constituencies. More than a dozen leaders had tried their best for the ticket on Gopalganj seat, which included influential names like former BJP district president Anup Kumar Srivastava, Dr. Vishal Gupta and Zilla Parishad President Subhash Singh.

It is being told that these leaders left no stone unturned in running and lobbying from Patna to Delhi to get the ticket. However, after the party high command decided the candidates, resentment and dissatisfaction is clearly visible among many contenders. Sources reveal that some leaders have accused the party leadership of neglecting the workers and are now in a mood to contest independent elections or leave the party.

Former BJP President Anup Kumar Srivastava has posted on social media about contesting the elections. Similarly, in Baikunthpur assembly constituency also the cracks within the NDA seem to be deepening. Senior BJP leader Mithilesh Tiwari and veteran JDU leader Manjeet Kumar Singh both had given their full strength in the race for the ticket.

After ticket distribution, BJP has fielded Mithilesh Tiwari, while JDU leader Manjeet Kumar Singh has also announced to contest the elections independently. In the assembly elections held in the year 2020, Baikunthpur assembly went to BJP’s account. Even at that time, Manjeet Kumar Singh had lost the election by contesting as an independent candidate by getting around 40 thousand votes and also defeated the BJP. RJD’s Premshankar Yadav won.

There is discussion in political circles that if Manjit Singh enters the fray, then NDA’s equation on Baikunthpur seat may get disturbed. This increasing tussle between BJP and JDU is not only affecting the morale of the workers, but can also become an opportunity for the opposition parties to take advantage of it.

Sources say that the NDA leadership, however, has termed internal differences as a normal situation and said that soon efforts will be made to persuade all the dissidents. But political observers believe that if this anger is not controlled, then NDA may have to face internal attacks in both Gopalganj and Baikunthpur seats.

As the nomination process is progressing, murmurs of rebellion are increasing in the politics of the district. This challenge for NDA is now not only from the opposition but also from the dissatisfaction of its own people, which can give a new twist to the electoral equation in the coming days.
