Bhagalpur, 24 October . Preparations for Chhath, the great festival of folk faith, are going on in full swing. This time some special views will be seen at Chhath Ghats in Bhagalpur. A wonderful confluence of folk art and faith will be seen here. Devotees will offer Arghya to Lord Bhaskar with soup decorated with the famous Manjusha painting of Bhagalpur.

This initiative is a unique effort to connect the traditional Manjusha art, which has become the identity of Bhagalpur, with Chhath festival. Manjusha Guru Manoj Pandit of Bhagalpur along with his team is busy decorating these soups. Manoj Pandit says that this time an attempt is being made to give a new identity to folk art through Chhath festival, so that this ancient art of Bhagalpur reaches the people again. This time when Arghya will be offered to the rising sun at Chhath Ghats, the soups decorated with Manjusha art will not only be a symbol of reverence but will also present a living glimpse of the culture, tradition and folk art of Bhagalpur.
