
Bhagalpur, 26 October . District Magistrate Dr. Naval Kishore Chaudhary, Senior Superintendent of Police Hriday Kant and Municipal Commissioner Shubham Kumar jointly inspected Barari Pul Ghat, College Ghat, Seedhi Ghat and Adampur Ghat by boat on Sunday.
During the inspection, the District Magistrate directed that cleanliness, lighting, changing rooms, availability of drinking water, temporary toilets and easy routes for the devotees should be ensured at all the ghats.
He said that Chhath fast is a symbol of the faith and culture of Bihar. Devotees should be provided with full facilities so that they can celebrate this holy festival with purity and devotion.
The District Magistrate said that SDRF, NDRF, diving team and Aapda Mitras will be deployed at the ghats, so that in case of any emergency, immediate relief and rescue work can be done. He directed that warning boards should be installed on ghats with dangerous and deep water, on which it is clearly written that there is deep water ahead, please do not go ahead.
He said that along with cleaning the ghats, the Municipal Corporation should also install adequate LED lights for lighting. On this occasion, Additional Collector (Disaster Management) Kundan Kumar, Sub-Divisional Officer Vikas Kumar, other officials of Municipal Corporation and Police Administration were also present.
