Purnia, 18 October (NEWS IN BIHAR). The Divisional Level School Sports Competition 2025–26, filled with sports spirit, discipline and enthusiasm, had a grand finale on Saturday. In this event that lasted for four days, players from different districts of the division performed brilliantly and many new talents emerged.

On the occasion of the closing ceremony, Senior Deputy Collector cum District Sports Officer Ravi Shankar Jha, while addressing the student-athletes present, said that sports teaches discipline, team spirit and self-confidence in life.

He also highlighted the importance of voting and said that just as players play with full dedication, similarly citizens should also take active participation in the field of democracy through their vote.

He appealed to all the youth who have completed 18 years, especially the students who are going to vote for the first time, to vote and strengthen democracy.

About 350 student-athletes participated in this competition. Children displayed their talent brilliantly in competitions like Kabaddi, Football, Wushu, Cricket, Athletics, Wrestling and Chess.

The winners were awarded by Senior Deputy Collector cum District Sports Officer Shri Ravi Shankar Jha.

He said that sports competition is not just a celebration of the success of the players, but it is the result of everyone’s collective hard work, organization and dedication.

He gave special thanks to all the physical teachers, sports trainers, sports association members, parents and student assistants, who played an important role in making this competition successful.
