Regarding the festival of Diwali and Chhath, a meeting of the District Level Peace Committee was organized under the chairmanship of District Officer Anil Kumar in the Parman Auditorium located at the Collectorate.

In the meeting, the District Officer appealed to all the present Peace Committee members and public representatives to celebrate Diwali and Chhath festival in an atmosphere of mutual brotherhood, peace and harmony. He said that the objective of the festival is to promote love, unity and goodwill in the society.

He directed that on the occasion of Diwali and Chhath festival, the Model Code of Conduct implemented in view of Bihar Assembly General Elections 2025 should be strictly followed. Strict action will be taken against any kind of inflammatory banners-posters or anti-social elements that hurt religious sentiments.

The District Officer said that the prohibition law should be strictly followed and strict action will be taken against the sale or consumption of illegal liquor. To maintain law and order during the festival, police patrolling will be increased and magistrates and police forces will be deputed at sensitive places.

Regarding Chhath Mahaparva, he gave instructions to ensure cleanliness of all Chhath ghats, identification of deep ghats, barricading as per requirement, deputation of divers, lighting arrangements, proper arrangements for drinking water and medical facilities. City Council and Panchayat representatives were asked to run a cleanliness drive and make proper arrangements for the convenience of the devotees. The concerned police officials were directed that special vigilance will be taken in all the police station areas so that no untoward incident takes place.

The public representatives and peace committee members present in the meeting also assured every possible cooperation to the administration and appealed to the people of the district to celebrate Diwali and Chhath festival with peace, harmony and cleanliness.
