East Champaran, 15 October (NEWS IN BIHAR). Late on Wednesday evening, the police of Haraiya police station arrested a driver driving a truck with a fake number plate in the India-Nepal border area.

According to the information received, the police force under the leadership of Haraiya police station in-charge Kishan Kumar Paswan stopped the suspicious truck and investigated it during a special investigation operation.

During this period, when there was doubt on the registration number of the vehicle, when the vehicle was verified, the number of some other vehicle was found to be affixed on the truck. During interrogation, the driver was identified as Ajay Kumar Mishra, resident of Amanka police station, district Raipur (Chhattisgarh). In this regard, DSP Manish Anand said that secret information was received that trucks were being operated with fake number plates in the border area.

To verify the information, the police team started surveillance in Haraiya area, after which the suspicious truck was stopped and investigated. During investigation, it became clear that a case related to the registration number of the said truck was already registered under case number 337/2025 of Amanka police station of Chhattisgarh. After thorough interrogation of the driver, both the recovered truck and the driver were handed over to Chhattisgarh Police for necessary legal action. It is being told that the truck was being used in suspicious activities in the border area by wearing fake number plates.

The police is also investigating whether the driver is connected to any gang or not. This action of Haraiya Police has created panic among the anti-social elements active in the border area. Local people have appreciated the promptness of Haraiya Police and demanded to continue such operations regularly.
