Shahnawaz Alam, younger son of late late Taslimuddin, former minister of Government of India and former minister of Bihar government and outgoing MLA, filed his nomination form from Jokihat on Monday, the last day.
After saluting his mother from Jokihat, Shahnawaz Alam reached the Collectorate along with thousands of supporters from home. Where he reached the office of the Additional Collector cum Electoral Officer of Jokihat and filed his nomination form. Shahnawaz Alam had won the election as an AIMIM candidate in the 2020 assembly elections. However, he later joined RJD along with five AIMIM MLAs. In 2020 Shahnawaz Alam had defeated his elder brother and RJD candidate Sarfaraz Alam in the elections.
After filing nomination papers, Shahnawaz Alam said that during the last five years, he has worked to give Jokihat an identity in the field of development. On the basis of the work done, he is among the public and he is confident that the people of Jokihat will love him the way they loved his father late Mr. Taslimuddin.
Talking about doing many development works in the field of roads, education and health, he said that Jokihat area is a flood affected area and it is his priority to do many works for relief from floods.
