
Nalanda, October 19 (NEWS IN BIHAR). On Sunday morning, Rajgir Railway Station Police detained a smuggler who was smuggling illicit liquor along with liquor at Rajgir Railway Station in the district and sent him to Divisional Jail, Bihar Sharif.
It is said that the Excise Department team received secret information that liquor consignment was being brought by Rajgir Passenger MEMU train. After which action was taken with the help of Rajgir Railway Station Police.
Five people, including three women, got down from the train on the platform of Rajgir railway station carrying big cartons. The team searched the cartons. A consignment of English liquor was hidden in the carton under bangles and toys. The team seized the liquor and arrested everyone.
Railway station head said that the businessman had brought the consignment from bogie number 258458. A total of 102.375 liters of English liquor was recovered from the carton. The arrested businessmen include Gaurav Kumar, resident of Nardiganj police station area of ??Nawada district, Lovely Devi, resident of Badgaon, Lalo Devi, Usha Devi and Rampravesh Kumar, resident of Pachwara. Excise Superintendent said that liquor has been recovered on secret information.
The raid has been conducted under the leadership of Excise Police Station Head Munna Kumar. The team included Inspector Shweta Sinha, Priyanka Kumari, Constable Amresh Kumar and other security personnel. Similarly, after raiding Rana Bigha village of Deepnagar police station area, they recovered 29.975 liters of English liquor and arrested businessman Mahendra Prasad. A businessman Vikram Kumar managed to escape. After the recovery of liquor, the room of the accused’s house has been sealed.
