Katihar, 01 October (NEWS IN BIHAR). Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of schemes worth Rs 4193 crore implemented by the Panchayati Raj Department in many districts of the state through webcasting. Under this programme, many schemes were inaugurated and foundation stones laid in Katihar district also.

A total of 19 Panchayat Government buildings constructed by the Building Construction Department, Local Area Engineering Organization and Gram Panchayats were inaugurated in Katihar district, the total involved amount of which is Rs 54.07 crore. Apart from this, foundation stone laying program was organized in Panchayats related to the construction of 34 Panchayat Government buildings, the total involved amount of which is Rs 105.16 crore. Besides, the foundation stone was also laid for the construction of Kanya Vivah Mandaps in 39 Panchayats in the district, the consolidated amount of which is Rs 19.50 crore.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad, Legislative Councilor Ashok Kumar Aggarwal, District Council President Rashmi Singh, District Magistrate Manesh Kumar Meena and other public representatives were present in the program organized at the district level.

Apart from this program organized at the district headquarters, the program was also organized at the local level in all the concerned Panchayats through live webcasting in the presence of the head and other public representatives.
