Bhagalpur, 24 October . An important inter-state meeting was organized on Friday in Peerpainti police station premises to conduct the Bihar Assembly general elections in a peaceful, fair and fear-free environment. Kahalgaon SDPO 2 Pankaj Kumar presided over the meeting. Local police officers including police officials from Sahebganj and Godda districts of Jharkhand state were present in this meeting.

Sahebganj DSP Chandrashekhar, Godda DSP Kishore Tirkey, Kahalgaon DSP A Kalyan Anand, Mahagama DSP Kishore Tirkey, Mehrma circle inspector R. Many officers including Minj, Peerpainti Circle Inspector Arun Kumar, Peerpainti Police Station Head Neeraj Kumar, Ishipur Police Station Head Manish Kumar attended the meeting. It was decided to run a special campaign against criminals, anti-social elements and Naxalites in the Bihar-Jharkhand border areas. Also, the inter-state and mirror check posts established to completely stop the inter-state movement of illicit liquor, drugs, illegal weapons and money were reviewed.

SDPO 2 Pankaj Kumar said that by establishing better coordination between the two states, joint action will be taken by sharing information about wanted criminals, warrantees and history-sheeters. He directed that strict action should be taken against the criminals who are from Bihar and taking shelter in Jharkhand. He said that check posts have been established at a total of eight places in Kahalgaon sub-division area. 48 hours before the elections, the entire border area will be completely sealed so that no illegal activity can take place. In the meeting, instructions were also given to all the officers to increase vigilance and intensify patrolling.
