A meeting of officials of India and Nepal was held on Wednesday in the auditorium located at Integrated Check Post (ICP).

In the joint coordination meeting, top administrative and security officials of both the countries had in-depth discussions on border security, prevention of smuggling and mutual coordination during Bihar assembly elections.

It is noteworthy that the nomination process for Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 will start from October 13 and will continue till October 20 and voting will be held in two phases, the first phase will be on November 6 and the second phase will be on November 11. In this regard, a two-day visit of Inspector General of Frontier Headquarters, SSB, Patna, Nishit Kumar Ujjwal, IAS, was completed in 47th Corps SSB, Raxaul.

During his visit, Inspector General Ujjwal first received the Guard of Honor at the Corps Headquarters and gave the message of environmental protection by planting trees.

After this, he addressed the military conference, in which he instructed the force’s personnel to ensure border security, identification of suspicious persons, investigation of citizens coming and going, and to maintain vigil during the election period. He also listened to the personal problems of the soldiers and stressed on keeping their morale high. Thereafter he reached ICP Raxaul, where the meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee of India-Nepal Border Districts was held.

The meeting was attended by Saurabh Jorwal, District Magistrate East Champaran from the Indian side; S. Subramaniam, Deputy Inspector General, Area Headquarters SSB. Bettiah, Sanjay Pandey, Commandant 47th Corps S.S.B., Raxaul, Swarn Prabhat, Superintendent of Police, Motihari and S.S.B. And other officials of the district administration were present. On the Nepal side, Toy Narayan Subedi, CDO, District Parsa, Anjani Kumar Pokharel, DIG, APF, Brigade-03, Bhandara, Chitwan and senior officials of Nepal Police and Administration were present.
