Araria 18 October (NEWS IN BIHAR). From Jokihat assembly constituency, one of the hot seats of the district, Sarfaraz Alam, son of former MP and former Minister of State for Home of Government of India, late Taslimuddin, filed nomination papers from Jansuraj Party.
Meanwhile, AIMIM chief Murshid Alam filed his nomination papers in front of the Jokihat returning officer. Both the candidates along with their supporters came to the office of the returning officer at the collectorate and filed their nomination papers. After staying in RJD for a long time, he left RJD when the party did not field a candidate in the last Lok Sabha elections. After which he filed his nomination papers in front of Jansuraj founder Prashant Kishore. Jansuraj had joined the party just a few days ago.
In the 2020 Jokihat assembly elections, Sarfaraz Alam was the RJD candidate. Whereas, his younger brother Shahnawaz Alam was made its candidate by AIMIM and in that election, Shahnawaz Alam, as the AIMIM candidate, defeated Sarfaraz Alam. However, later, five out of six AIMIM MLAs switched sides and joined RJD. After which Shahnawaz Alam became close to RJD and in the last Lok Sabha elections also, the RJD high command had expressed confidence in Shahnawaz Alam instead of Sarfaraz Alam and made him its candidate. Shahnawaz Alam has been declared RJD’s candidate in this assembly election also.
After filing nomination papers, Jansuraj Party candidate Sarfaraz Alam said that he has spent a long time with the late Taslimuddin, the pivot of Seemanchal politics. He has experience in politics. He said that before nomination, he is in the electoral arena after setting up 48 chaupals in the assembly constituency and gathering opinions from supporters and people.
Meanwhile, AIMIM candidate Murshid Alam said that he is in the election arena to change the fate of Jokihat. He said that he has been the head for 25 years and as the head, he has made his Panchayat an ideal Panchayat.
He said that Jokihat has been occupied by the same family for 56 years. But this area is also deprived of basic facilities like health, education and roads. The health system is in complete disarray. Last year also the people of Jokihat had expressed confidence in AIMIM and this time too they will teach a lesson to the cheaters and make AIMIM victorious.
