Gopalganj, October 18 (NEWS IN BIHAR). Under the Bihar Assembly general elections, the scrutiny process of nomination papers was completed on Saturday in Gopalganj district.

According to the information received from the District Election Office, nomination papers of a total of twenty candidates were canceled in six assembly constituencies. Among these, nominations of nine candidates each from Baikunthpur assembly constituency, eight from Barauli, and one each from Bhore, Hathua and Kuchaykot were declared invalid.

At the same time, nomination papers of any candidate from Gopalganj assembly constituency were not cancelled, due to which all the candidates here remain in the electoral fray. The district administration said that the nomination papers of the candidates whose documents were found incomplete or the necessary conditions were not fulfilled, have been cancelled.

The scrutiny process was conducted in a peaceful environment. Now after the release of the final list of valid candidates, the election campaign among the candidates is likely to intensify further.

The election office said that the last date for withdrawal of nominations will be till next Monday as per the scheduled schedule.
