Patna, 25 October (NEWS IN BIHAR). The Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall at most places in the state of Bihar during the period from 29 to 31 October 2025. Heavy rainfall may also occur at one or two places in the northern and north-eastern districts of the state on October 29 and 31. Also, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and strong wind speed of 30-40 km/hr in many parts of the state during this period.
According to the Meteorological Department, the low pressure area located over the south-east Bay of Bengal and the adjacent South Andaman Sea has transformed into a depression. The system was centered over the same area as of 08:30 AM today, 25 October 2025, moving westwards at a speed of about 7 kmph. It is likely to move in west-northwest direction and convert into a deep depression by October 26.
After this, this system may take the form of a cyclonic storm over the south-west and adjacent West Central Bay of Bengal by the morning of 27 October. Moving further in the north-northwest direction, it may turn into a severe cyclonic storm by the morning of 28 October. Moving further north-northwestwards, the system is highly likely to make landfall along the Andhra Pradesh coast between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam around Kakinada during the evening or night of 28 October.
The Meteorological Department has issued precautionary advisories for farmer brothers and the general public.
At present, it is the time of harvesting of Kharif crops, hence farmers should harvest their ripe crops soon and keep them in a safe place. Properly store the crops kept for drying in the fields and in the open. Avoid irrigation of vegetable crops for now. To protect yourself from lightning, do not stand near open fields, tall trees, water bodies or electric poles during lightning. Stay indoors and use mobile phones or other electrical appliances carefully.
