Nalanda, 19 October (NEWS IN BIHAR). The work of nomination scrutiny has been completed on all 7 assembly seats of Nalanda district. A total of 94 candidates had filled the forms, but the nominations of 23 candidates have been cancelled. Till now 71 candidates are left in the fray. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is still pending, after which the real picture will be clear.

The district administration had not released the valid list of nominations till late Saturday evening. This led to resentment among many candidates. It was told by the Election Office that most of the nominations have been canceled due to errors in documents, incomplete information or lack of affidavit.

In Biharsharif assembly constituency, nominations of maximum 8 candidates have been cancelled. Which includes Afreen Sultana, Prafulla Kumar, Riazuddin, Rajat Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Rajkumar Paswan, Shashi Ranjan Suman and Ashok Kumar.

In the list of seat-wise canceled nominations, in the Assembly valid nominations, Rajgir 7 5 Nalanda 10 2 Bihar Sharif 11 8 Harnaut 11 3 Islampur 13 0 Asthawan 8 2 Hilsa 11 3 Nominations of three in Hilsa sub-division have also been rejected. In which mainly the nominations of Inderjit Paswan (People’s Party of India Democratic), Sudama Paswan (Independent) and Ravindra Prasad (Independent) have been canceled in Hilsa Assembly constituency.

Hilsa’s election officer Amit Kumar said that the three candidates had either given incomplete information or had not submitted the required documents. Two candidates did not appear in the investigation even after the notice, while Ravindra Prasad’s form did not even have the name of the proposer. Now 71 candidates are in the fray for 7 seats in Nalanda district. The final list will be released after the date of withdrawal of nominations is over.

Two cancellations each took place in Asthawan and Nalanda, in which the nominations of Gauri Kumar and Arman Dev from Main Asthawan were rejected. The nominations of Jitendra Kumar and Dheeraj Kumar have been canceled from Nalanda. Islampur of Nalanda is the only seat in the assembly where the nomination of any candidate has not been cancelled. A total of 13 candidates are still in the race here. 5 canceled in Rajgir and 3 in Harnaut in which nominations of Amarjeet Kumar, Devraj Rajvanshi, Nagina Paswan, Indal Paswan and Jagdev Ravidas from Rajgir have been cancelled. The nominations of Pankaj Kumar, Divesh Kumar and Ravi Golden from Harnaut have been found invalid.
