
Saran, 30 September (NEWS IN BIHAR). On the holy occasion of Shardiya Navratri, there is an atmosphere of faith and celebration from Chhapra city to the surrounding rural areas. Devotees are reaching different pandals in large numbers to have darshan and worship of Mata Rani. Attractive pandals have been constructed in the streets of the city, in major squares and markets, in which grand decorations based on various themes can be seen.
Grand idols of Maa Durga have been installed in dozens of localities of the city including Shyam Chak, Pankaj Cinema Road, Bhagwan Bazaar, Lallu Mod, Gudri Rai Chowk, Municipal Chowk, Telpa Tempu Stand, Nehru Chowk and Gandhi Chowk. The process of morning and evening puja, bhajan and kirtan continues continuously. Devotees are reaching the pandals with their families to have darshan of the Mother Goddess and the atmosphere is echoing with cheers.
Theme based decorations have become the center of special attraction in the pandals this time. The “Operation Sindoor” pandal built in Baniapur is showing a glimpse of the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers of the country. Crowds are gathering here to see the pandal and people are becoming emotional with patriotism. At the same time, a huge octopus shaped pandal has been made in Futani Bazaar of Jalalpur, which is surprising the onlookers. Children and youth have made this pandal a selfie point.
During these holy days of Navratri, a series of religious and cultural programs are also going on in the city. At some places bhajan evenings are being organised, at other places the pomp and show of Garba and Dandiya is being seen. As the evening approaches, the grandeur of the pandals bathed in light is a sight to behold.
In Chhapra and its surrounding areas, the festival of Navratri is not limited to religious faith only, but has become a symbol of social solidarity and cultural expression. The crowd gathering in the pandals is proof that reverence and enthusiasm for Maa Durga is equally present among people of every class and age.
