On Saturday, near Arya Mission School located in Tower Chowk Manikpur of Simraha police station area on Araria Forbesganj main road NH 27, a speeding auto came from the wrong side and hit the bike. In which a young man riding a bike died on the spot, while the other was seriously injured.

The deceased has been identified as Dilkhush Mandal, 28, son of Narayan Mandal, resident of Rahikpur Thilamohan ward number 05. Meanwhile, the injured 35-year-old Deepak Rajak, son of Thilamohan Ward No. 02 Ramanand Rajak, has been admitted to a private hospital in Nepal for treatment. Where his condition is said to be critical.

Angered by the incident, family members and villagers protested by placing the dead body on the road. The angry villagers blocked the Forbesganj-Araria main road for three hours by burning tires on the road. Due to this, there was a two kilometer long jam on both sides.

As soon as information about the incident was received, Forbesganj SDPO Mukesh Kumar, Simraha Police Station Head Puani Prem Kumar Bharti reached the spot and controlled the situation by pacifying the angry villagers. Later, Forbesganj MLA Vidyasagar Keshari alias Manchan Keshari and former chief Suresh Paswan also reached and met the family members and demanded appropriate compensation from the administration.

On the initiative of the administration, the body was sent for post-mortem and the road jam was removed.

According to local people, the auto that caused the accident belonged to Shehzad Ali, a resident of Champanagar in Purnia district. After the accident, the auto driver fled from the spot taking advantage of the crowd. Police are investigating the matter.
