Katihar, 01 October (NEWS IN BIHAR). Due to excessive floods in the month of August of Shardiya Kharif 2025 in the district, a total of 6534.26 hectares of paddy, maize and other crops were damaged in 46 panchayats of five blocks (Kursela, Barari, Pranpur, Manihari and Ahmedabad).

The Agriculture Department invited online applications from farmers for payment of grant amount under the Agricultural Input Grant Scheme in the said Panchayats. After verification, a total grant amount of Rs 246.56743 lakh was transferred by the Chief Minister, Bihar through DBT to 4429 eligible farmers of Kursela, Barari and Pranpur under Katihar sub-division. The process for payment of grant amount to the affected farmers of Manihari and Ahmedabad blocks of Manihari sub-division is going on.
