
Gopalganj, October 14 (NEWS IN BIHAR). The district administration has intensified its preparations to conduct the Bihar Assembly general elections in a fair, peaceful and fear-free environment. Voting is to be held on November 6 on all the six assembly seats of the district, for which the administrative and police machinery is in full active mode.
In this sequence, Superintendent of Police Awadhesh Dixit, while reviewing the law and order situation in Diara areas of the district, has prepared a strategy for intensive raids and patrolling. It is being told that these areas fall in the category of expenditure sensitive assembly constituencies, where there is a high possibility of illegal activities during elections. The SP has instructed the officials of the concerned police station areas to patrol continuously day and night and increase vigil at sensitive places.
He said that strict action will be taken against illegal liquor, arms smuggling or activities that influence voters in Diara and river bank areas. Those found involved in any illegal activity will not be spared. The SP said that as per the guidelines of the Election Commission, the monitoring system of check posts and police stations in the district has been strengthened. Joint action of police and administrative teams is underway to keep an eye on possible illegal traffic, especially through the river route.
He said that intelligence surveillance has been further strengthened to prevent any kind of irregularities or attempts to influence voters before the elections. Police and surveillance teams are in alert mode in all the expenditure sensitive assembly constituencies of the district. The SP has appealed to the common citizens that if they see any suspicious activity, illegal liquor storage, weapons smuggling, or any attempt to distribute money, they should immediately inform the nearest police station or control room, so that timely action can be taken. He said that immediate action will be taken against any case of code of conduct violation in the district.
Flying squads, static surveillance teams and video surveillance teams have been activated to maintain transparency in the election process. The aim of the district administration and police administration is to ensure that the atmosphere of the district remains completely peaceful, fair and transparent on the day of voting. By increasing vigil in Diara areas and preparing for intensive raids, the administration has given the message that any kind of irregularities in the election process will not be tolerated.
