Courtesy of District Administration Sweep Cell and Youth Tourism Art Culture Department, a grand event of Bhaskar Mahotsav was organized at the local Auditorium on Saturday.
In the program, a grand presentation of programs and songs based on the folk faith festival Chhath was done by Kunj Bihari Mishra, District Sweep Icon Jai Jha and other local artists. During the Bhaskar Mahotsav, voters were motivated to exercise their franchise for the Assembly General Elections: 2025. On the said occasion, General Observer Manju Rajpal, District Election Officer cum District Magistrate Deepesh Kumar, Superintendent of Police Himanshu and other district level officials related to 75-Saharsa inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp.
During the program, Mithila Ratna Pandit Kunj Bihari Mishra and Sweep Icon Jai Jha were also honored by the general observer. In the program, Kunj Bihari Mishra sang many Maithili folk songs. He enthralled the audience by singing songs in Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Maithili and Sanskrit. At the same time, on this occasion, he forced the audience to dance by singing a wedding song.
He said that the audience of Saharsa is very peace-loving and literary. We feel proud that I have been invited to the Bhaskar Mahotsav. Pandit Mishra said that Bhaskar Mahotsav is dedicated to Lord Sun. On the auspicious occasion of Chhath festival, special worship is done to him. The entire atmosphere resonates with the singing of Chhath Mai songs. Only then the mind gets spiritual peace. At the end of the program, Manmohan Chhath song was sung by District Art Culture Officer Sneha Jha which was welcomed by clapping in the audience.
