
-A strict watch will be kept on train passengers
East Champaran, October 29 . Railway administration has become completely alert regarding Bihar Assembly elections 2025.
On Wednesday, a joint review meeting of GRP, RPF and SSB officers was organized under the chairmanship of Railway DSP Rajesh Kumar at the GRP police station office located in Raxaul station premises.
A detailed discussion was held in the meeting regarding railway security arrangements, in which instructions were mainly given to stop any kind of illegal activity through trains during assembly elections, to keep special vigil in sensitive trains and railway premises and to conduct intensive investigation of suspicious passengers.
Railway DSP said that as the voting date approaches, the responsibility of the security agencies increases. He said that every compartment of the train will be monitored from the railway station to ensure that no illegal cash, liquor or other prohibited items are transported.
Also, special vigilance will be taken on activities like influencing voters through trains or supplying money and liquor during voting. Railway DSP Rajesh Kumar directed all the security agencies to jointly run the operation, so that there is no possibility of any disturbance in the trains passing through the border areas including Raxaul.
He said that as per the instructions of the Election Commission, the role of Railways is important in making the voting process completely fair and peaceful, hence any negligence will not be tolerated.
SSB Assistant Commandant Rajat Mishra, RPF in-charge Ajay Kumar Chaudhary, GRP in-charge Pawan Kumar and other officers were present in the meeting. During this, the officers present discussed the common strategy and decided that the number of patrolling teams in the station premises and trains will be increased. Besides, surveillance system will also be strengthened with CCTV cameras.
Railway DSP directed that while searching every passenger coming and going to the station, sensitivity and decency should be kept in mind so that common passengers are not inconvenienced, but no laxity should be shown towards suspicious persons.
He said that all security agencies will have to take coordinated action to ensure that trains do not become a medium for illegal transportation during elections. At the end of the meeting, all the officers assured that they will take every possible step to ensure peace, security and fairness in the railway sector during the assembly elections.
