Samastipur, 25 October . There is a continuous increase in the arrival of passengers at Samastipur railway station due to the great festival of folk faith, Chhath Puja. During this period, the Railway Administration has made special preparations for the convenience of the passengers and to enliven the festive atmosphere. Along with giving information about the arrival and departure of trains to the passengers, the station premises is also allowing them to enjoy traditional Bhojpuri songs of Chhath through the announcement system. The melodious echo of Chhath songs has created a devotional atmosphere in the station premises. Through this cultural initiative, passengers are getting the aroma of the festival and a spiritual peace even before reaching their homes.

Special enthusiasm is being seen among the women passengers, who are getting emotional after listening to these songs. In view of the huge crowd that gathers during the festival, a huge ‘holding area’ has been prepared at Samastipur Junction for the convenience of the passengers. This holding area will provide space to passengers to wait for their train comfortably, avoiding unnecessary crowding on the platform.
