Bettiah, 29 October . Bettiah police in West Champaran district, during an intensive vehicle checking operation on Wednesday near Bariyarpur check post located on the border of Nautan police station area, recovered two bottles of liquor from a safari vehicle and arrested six people.

The arrested accused have been identified as Sarvjeet Prasad, Sanjeet Prasad, Mohan Kumar, Harkesh Kanojia, Rahul Modi and Rajesh Yadav. The police have also seized the Safari car number WB 39 D 7200.

According to the information, all the accused were going to Nepal for contract work. Their car was going towards Nepal via Uttar Pradesh. During the search, the police found 750 ml bladder and Goodvan brand liquor bottles from the car. After the seizure, the police took everyone into custody and started interrogating them.

Police station incharge Paswan said that in the initial investigation the matter appears to be related to liquor smuggling or illegal transportation of liquor.
