
East Champaran, 19 October (NEWS IN BIHAR). Under the special polio campaign on Diwali-Chhath festival, a special campaign is being run from 18th to 28th October to protect children from polio.
In this regard, Civil Surgeon Dr. Ravibhushan Srivastava and DIO Dr. Sharat Chandra Sharma said that the team will keep an eye on the children up to 5 years of age returning to Bihar from Nepal and outside states. Dr. Rajeev Ranjan, Medical Officer in-charge of Primary Health Center Raxaul, said that Raxaul is adjacent to the border of Nepal from where outsiders come, hence children will be given medicine at the selected bus stand and railway station here.
Arrangements will be made for polio vaccination for children up to 5 years of age at Chhath Ghats along with railway stations and new bus stands. In the special campaign, special attention is to be given to those children who have come to their homes during the festival season. Let us tell you that this special polio vaccination campaign is being run with the aim of freeing the district from the dangers of polio.
Which will run till 28th October. CS of East Champaran, Dr. Ravibhushan Srivastava said that children coming from outside during festivals can be protected from the possible dangers of polio by taking polio supplements. Therefore, the health workers along with the transit team have been directed to administer two drops of Plus Polio medicine to the children at Chhath Ghats along with the railway station and bus stand.
The same Dr. SC Sharma told that the marked places will be marked from where children from outside will enter the district and from the district will enter the block and the respective village. Personnel have been appointed at those places. Supervisors have also been deputed for supervision. In the Diwali, Chhath Puja special polio eradication campaign under Primary Health Center Raxaul, including Bapudham, Motihari, the polio transit team administered medicine to children on platform 1 of the railway station. The team was monitored by the Medical Officer in Charge, Nodal Medical Officer, BMC UNICEF.
