
Bettiah, 18 October (NEWS IN BIHAR). Flying squad and static surveillance team (SST) are continuously maintaining vigil in the district regarding Bihar Assembly general elections 2025. In this sequence, the team of SST-13 achieved a major success during vehicle checking at Ghogha Chowk (Gopalpur police station).
During investigation on Saturday, the team recovered Rs 2,89,000 in cash from Diwakar Kumar, resident of Bhitha Nizamat, Bettiah. No satisfactory document could be produced regarding the seized amount, following which the cash was confiscated as per the rules.
The vehicle inspection team included magistrates and police officers. The team immediately informed this to the concerned Expenditure Observation Team so that further investigation could be done.
During the election period, an intensive vehicle checking campaign is being conducted at various intersections, roads and border areas in the district. The objective of the investigation campaign is to ensure that no person or party can influence voters through illegal money, liquor, or gift materials.
The district administration has appealed to the common citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity during the elections to the toll free number or control room, so that the election process can be conducted in a clean, fair and transparent manner.
