Nalanda, Biharsharif, 23 October . A 14-year-old teenager died by drowning in a tragic accident on Thursday in Tetrawan village of Manpur police station area. The deceased has been identified as Ankush Kumar, son of late Mithlesh Prasad, resident of Tetrawan village.
The relatives of the deceased told that Ankush had gone to the river bank with his friends to bring soil for Chhath Puja. During this time, he went into the river to take a bath, where he drowned after going into deep water. The friends accompanying him raised an alarm, after which the villagers tried hard to save him, but could not be saved. As soon as information about the incident was received, Manpur police station reached the spot and inquired about the situation. Later the SD RF team was called, after whose tireless efforts the body of the teenager was pulled out of the river.
Manpur police station incharge Anuruddha Sharma said that the body has been sent to Biharsharif Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. He said that the body will be handed over to the relatives after the completion of the process. Also, action to provide government assistance to the deceased family.
