Shahjahan Shad, who filed nomination papers with the Nationalist Congress Party symbol from Narpatganj assembly constituency, has written a letter to the District Election Officer requesting him to accept his canceled nomination papers.

During scrutiny of the letter, despite living 28 kilometers away, when he reached the announcement of his name, he was asked to sit down due to the controversy over the issue of cancellation of nomination paper of a candidate by the Returning Officer cum DCLR. Later, he was accused of canceling the nomination paper due to not being able to write zero in the blank space at only one place in the nomination paper. Despite repeated requests by the authorized advocate, he was not allowed to make corrections and the other candidate was given a chance to make the corrections. Allegation has been made.

It has been alleged that the attested copy of the rejected nomination was not made available by the returning officer despite demand. He said that all his claims were captured in the CCTV camera installed in the sub-divisional office of Forbesganj.
