Patna, 1 October (NEWS IN BIHAR). The weather suddenly turned on the last day of Sharadiya Navratri. The sky was cloudy since morning and light to moderate rains were recorded in many areas later in the afternoon.
The Meteorological Department had already predicted that many districts of Bihar may receive light rainfall from 1 to 5 October. According to this forecast, the sudden rains have started affecting the ongoing preparations for Navratri and Dussehra.
For nine days of Navratri, there was a flood of faith in puja-pandals and temples. Devotees worshiped Maa Durga and wished for happiness and prosperity. On the last day i.e. Mahanavami, where worship and girl worship were being organized, on the other hand, preparations for Dussehra were also in the final stages. But in the meantime, the revenge of the weather was seen to be disturbing the enthusiasm of the people.
The most troublesome due to rain are facing the committees who are preparing for Ravana combustion. Effigies of Ravana, Meghnath and Kumbhakaran are being prepared. A crowd of thousands arrive to see the event, but the effigies are feared to be damaged due to rain.
The members of the organizing committee said that due to intermittent rain, additional hard work has to be done to cover the effigies and protect.
Similarly, attractive pandals in various mohallas of the city are also being affected by the rain. Complaints of water dripping and decoration malfunctions were reported in many pandals. Electricity system has also been affected, due to which both the devotees and the organizers are upset.
