On Wednesday, the Forest Department has given a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the victim’s family in the death of seven-year-old Abhishek Musahar, a resident of Shivlahan village of Panchayat Raj Santpur Sohariya under Valmiki Nagar police station of Valmiki Tiger Project Forest Division 2, in a crocodile attack. This amount was given to father Kaviraj Musahar by forest department ranger Amit Kumar.

Regarding the incident, it is said that on June 15, Abhishek was playing with his other friends. At the same time, a crocodile coming out of a nearby canal attacked him, due to which the child died. As compensation, Forest Area Officer of Valmiki Nagar, Amit Kumar, went to Shivlaha village and handed over a compensation check of Rs 10 lakh to the relatives of the deceased child. Ramesh Mahato, head representative of Santpur Sohariya, said that on June 15, Abhishek was playing near the canal with other children. At the same time, a crocodile coming out of the canal attacked Abhishek and caught him in its jaws.

Seeing the crocodile, the children playing together started making noise. Due to which the nearby villagers reached the spot, but by then the child had died in the crocodile attack. The forest department was informed about the incident by the villagers. The Forest Department decided to give compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the child. Chief representative Ramesh Mahato said that the support given by the Forest Department to the victim’s family is a commendable initiative.
