
-Thousands of saplings planted in 24 days
East Champaran, 26 November . The Harit Achchadan campaign led by Birgunj Mayor Rajeshman Singh to strengthen India-Nepal’s Birganj-Raxaul border in terms of beauty and environmental balance concluded on Wednesday. During this campaign, thousands of saplings were planted from Shankaracharya Gate to Maitri Bridge in the last 24 days. Birgunj Municipal Corporation, Arms Police Force Nepal No. 13 Gan Headquarters Parsa, District Police Office Parsa and Green City Community Police Service Center Adarshnagar jointly participated in the comprehensive green campaign.
Under this mega campaign, thousands of saplings were systematically planted on both sides of the bypass road from Rajat Jayanti Chowk to Maitri Bridge. According to the organizers, this initiative will not only give an attractive look to the border area, but will also make an unprecedented contribution in pollution control, dust prevention and long-term environmental protection.
Mayor Rajeshman Singh and Chairman of the Center Jaiprakash Khaitan said that tree plantation is not just a way to enhance beauty, but it is the basis of a safe, clean and sustainable future for future generations. He said that making the border area clean, well-organized and beautiful is the top priority of the metropolis.
There was remarkable participation in the program by SP Sudipraj Pathak, DSP Raju Karki, Traffic Chief Yuvraj Katwal, Metropolitan Police Chief Hari Bhusal and various security agencies, Custom Department, Civil Society, journalists and local people, whose enthusiasm made this green campaign an unprecedented success.
