Saran, 26 November . On the occasion of Drug Free Day, a district level program was celebrated with enthusiasm and determination in Chhapra. On this occasion, District Magistrate Aman Sameer and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Kumar Ashish encouraged the winning participants of various competitions organized by rewarding them.

The highlight of the program was the collective resolution where thousands of people including officials, government employees, school students, Jeevika Didis and common citizens took a pledge not to consume drugs and inspire others to stay away from drugs. Aarushi Kumari, class 9 student of Gandhi High School, Chapra, the winner of the debate competition organized on this occasion, administered the oath to all the people present from the stage to live a drug-free life. His powerful address left everyone present at the program emotional and further strengthened their resolve towards building a drug-free Chhapra. During the programme, the state level de-addiction program organized in Patna was also telecast live, enabling 7 local people to connect with the comprehensive campaign of the state government.

In the essay competition organized on this occasion, first place was achieved by Ravikant Kumar student of Sadhu Lal High School, second place was achieved by Aanchal Kumari Mishrilal High School, third place was achieved by Anushka Kumari Lakshmi Narayan Brahmin High School. Whereas in the debate competition, first place was given to Aarushi Kumari Gandhi High School, second place was given to Dilkhush Kumari Abdul Qayyum Ansari High School, third place was given to Ashish Kumar Newly Established District School. In the same painting competition, first place was given to Rishika Gupta Government Girls High School, second place to Priya Kumari Mishrilal High School, third place to Aryan Kumar newly established District School. District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police presented certificates and prizes to the successful participants of the competition.

On this occasion, the District Magistrate appealed to the students and Jeevika Didis to become drug de-addiction ambassadors in their respective areas and contribute actively in freeing the society from this evil. Many senior officials, personnel, members of Jeevika Didi group, school children and dignitaries were present in the program including District Information Public Relations Officer Ravindra Kumar.
