Two children died due to drowning in different parts of Rohtas district on Sunday. While a 10 year old boy is missing. After the incident, there is an uproar among the relatives and the atmosphere during the Chhath festival has become gloomy.
The first incident took place in Rasoolpur village under Bhokri Panchayat of Karghar police station area, where a four-year-old child died due to drowning in Canal Karha on Sunday evening. Shubham is said to be the four year old son of the deceased Mahesh Singh.
Police Station Head Kamalnayan Pandey said that while roaming, the child went to the banks of Canal Karha, in which he drowned due to slipping of his feet. After search, the body was recovered from Karha. The father of the deceased works outside. Only mother lives at home. The police took the body into custody and sent it to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
On the other hand, the ten year old son of Ramdev Prajapati’s daughter has drowned while bathing in Singhpur Son river of Nohatta police station area. According to relatives, the child left home at 12 o’clock in the day. When he did not return till evening, the search started. His clothes were found on the shore. He is being searched but there is difficulty in finding him at night.

A painful accident took place in Chavariya village of police station area on Sunday amid preparations for Chhath festival. A 15-year-old teenager died due to drowning in the Kaav river passing through the village.
Police station incharge Chandan Kumar Bhagat told that Manjeet Kumar, son of Jairam Singh, resident of Chawariya, was taking bath by building a ghat on the river bank due to the Chhath fast being held at home. During this time he went into deep water and started drowning. When the children and youth present with him raised an alarm, the local divers pulled him out after tireless efforts.
As soon as the information was received, the police station chief reached the spot and with the help of his relatives, Manjeet was taken to a private hospital in Bikramganj, where the doctors declared him dead.
After necessary action, the police sent the body to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Villagers told that Manjeet was the only brother among three sisters. After the incident, there is a wave of mourning in the entire village and the family members are in bad condition, crying.
