
Araria 26 November . The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge IV Ravi Kumar sentenced two murderers to life imprisonment with fine in the murder case of Mohd. Abdul Razzaq in his in-laws house four years ago. In its decision, the court also ordered the culprits to face additional punishment of up to six months for non-payment of the fine amount.
Both the culprits were sentenced in court session case number 73/2022. The case is related to Raniganj police station case number 321/2021.
Among those sentenced was 40 year old Mohd. of Raniganj Hasanpur. Firoz’s father Mohd. Khalil and 42 year old Mohd. Kaushar’s father late. It is Ramzan. Another accused in the case is Bibi Shakeela’s husband – Late Mohd. Abdul Razzaq was released by the court during the trial due to lack of evidence. A total of seven witnesses were presented in the court by the prosecution.
Mohd. Nizam, father Mohd. Alauddin had lodged an FIR. In his final statement given before the police, he told that the deceased was his younger brother who was married to Hazrat’s daughter Shakeela Khatoon. But due to discord in married life, Shakeela Khatoon had filed a case under Dori Act against her husband and to improve the relationship, he started living in his in-laws’ house, but on 29 October 2021, on the south side of the paved road going to Raniganj Araria, Mohd. The dead body of deceased Mohd. Razzaq was found lying in a paddy field of Mojaheed, who was beaten to death by tying a rope around his neck. Motorcycle and mobile phone of deceased Razzaq were also recovered at the said place.
In the case, the complainant Nizam, apart from these three accused, Mohd. Hasan, Ayub alias Kalu, mother-in-law Nutfun Nisha, husband Mohd. Hazrat was also made an accused. Investigation on which is pending.
In the court, on behalf of the defense side, senior advocates Krishna Mohan Singh and Dev Narayan Sen pleaded for minimum punishment, while on behalf of the government, Additional Public Prosecutor Prabha Kumari argued for lawful punishment. After hearing both the sides, the court sentenced the culprits.
