Rahul Gandhi started election campaign from Muzaffarpur, campaigned with Tejashwi Yadav and other leaders of the alliance.

Patna, 29 October . Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, described the situation in Bihar as bad and attacked the JDU-BJP government on the issue of unemployment. He said that despite immense potential, Bihar is backward.

Launching the election campaign in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur along with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, VIP leader Mukesh Sahni, Indian Inclusive Party National President Inderjit Prasad Gupta, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, State Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Congress MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi questioned that when the people of Bihar go to places like Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and Dubai. If cities can be built, then why are they not getting employment and development in Bihar?

He also raised the issue of paper leak in the public meeting. He said that despite JDU-BJP government being in power in the state for 20 years, the areas have been completely neglected in terms of education, health and employment.

Describing demonetization and GST as disastrous for small industries, he further said that ‘Made in China’ is written on every product in the country, whereas we want ‘Made in Bihar’ written on it. Factories should be set up in Bihar, youth should get employment. He said that Bihar has a glorious history – once the best education in the world was available in the state’s Nalanda University. The Grand Alliance wants Bihar to once again become a global center of knowledge and youth from all countries including America should come to study in Nalanda University.

Taking aim at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the senior Congress leader said that he has been running the government for 20 years and calls himself extremely backward, but he has not done any concrete work in the fields of education, health and employment. He said that the remote control of Nitish Kumar is actually in the hands of BJP. Nitish Kumar does whatever BJP wants. He further said that Prime Minister Modi and BJP are against social justice. He also reminded that in the Lok Sabha, he had clearly said before the Prime Minister that caste census will be conducted to find out the population of different classes.

Cornering Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi said that he is not working for the poor but for some billionaires of the country. Industrialist Adani is being given land worth crores for one rupee and telecom spectrum is being handed over to Ambani.

He said that under the Modi government, two Indias are being created – one of the poor and the other shining India of the billionaires. On one side Yamuna is dirty, on the other side a small pond is built for Modi and clean water is filled in it through pipes. If Modi ji wants to show off Chhath Puja, he will take bath in clean water and just ten yards away the rest of India will take bath in dirty water.

In his address, the senior Congress leader mentioned the election theft in Maharashtra and Haryana and said that BJP will make similar efforts in Bihar also. To stop this, he called upon every voter of Bihar to vote and also guaranteed that the Grand Alliance government will be the government of every class, every caste and every religion.

Showing a copy of the Constitution, Rahul Gandhi said that the poor, farmers and laborers have got the right to vote, education and health because of the Constitution. When BJP steals votes or hollows out any institution, it is an attack on the Constitution of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. At the end of the speech, he reiterated his commitment to protect the Constitution and appealed to the public to make the Grand Alliance candidates win with huge votes.
