
Bettiah, 25 October (NEWS IN BIHAR). When Tiwari, a resident of Banuchhapar Devnagar, Bettiah, died during treatment at the GMCH in Bettiah, angry family members beat up the nursing officer and the doctor. Angered by the incident, the hospital staff started running and beating the attackers including their family members. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the family members ran away leaving the body on a stretcher.
The incident occurred at eight o’clock on Saturday morning. Due to the incident, other services including emergency were disrupted till 1 pm. After hours of hard work, the team of GMCH administration and city police calmed down the matter by convincing the angry doctors and staff. After that, the relatives of the deceased were called and an apology letter was written and the body was handed over to them.
Hospital Deputy Superintendent Dr. Diwakant Mishra said that Late, originally a resident of Lakshmipur, Valmikinagar. Nripendra Tiwari’s son Pranjay Tiwari was taken to GMCH late at night by his family in a critical condition. Pranjay was ill for the last five days and his family members were getting him treated at a private doctor. The doctors examined his health and prescribed necessary medicines. His health started deteriorating in the morning.
Doctors administered CPR, but Pranjay died. After this, the male and female relatives present with Pranjay started fighting. A female employee’s mobile phone was also snatched. The matter has been put to rest. Neither of the parties has filed any complaint. The relatives of the deceased have given a written apology that there was no negligence in the work of the doctors and staff of the hospital. Out of anger, some family members have resorted to such misbehavior.
