Nalanda, 13 October (NEWS IN BIHAR). A sensational incident of a woman being shot dead has come to light in Chandi police station area of ??Nalanda district on Monday morning. The deceased has been identified as Sarita Devi (55 years), Patirampravesh Yadav, resident of Ganga Bigha village, Vena police station area.
Police said that the body of the woman was found thrown in the water near the bridge on the Koyal Vigha-Paharpur road. As soon as information about the incident was received, Chandi police station reached the spot and took the body into custody and sent it to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Hilsa ASP Shailja said that the woman was shot in the head. FSL team has been called to collect evidence from the incident site.
Bipin Kumar, son of the deceased, told that on Sunday evening, CM of Jeevika Group Rekha Devi had called his mother from home on the pretext of some work. She did not return home till late night and the body was recovered the next morning.
Family members alleged that Sarita Devi had lent Rs 5 lakh to Rekha Devi, over this money dispute, Rekha Devi shot her dead as part of a conspiracy and threw her body on the roadside.
Police station incharge Suman Kumar said that preliminary investigation has revealed murder over a dispute over money transaction. Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused.
