There are six assembly constituencies in Araria district. The process of filing nomination forms for the election season of these six assembly constituencies is continuing. Candidates are filing nomination as independent candidates with recognized political parties and registered political parties.

In the election season of the district, two former police officers have made a pitch for the change in the system. One of them is former 2006 batch IPS Shivdeep Wamanrao Lande and the other is former DSP Akhilesh Kumar, who became DSP by getting ninth rank in the Bihar Public Service Commission examination. While Shivdeep Wamanrao Lande has filed nomination papers as an independent candidate from Araria, Akhilesh Kumar is an independent candidate from Narpatganj assembly constituency. While Shivdeep Wamanrao Lande resigned from his post in 2024 while holding the post of IG in Purnia, Akhilesh Kumar also resigned from his post after being DSP in Kishanganj and is holding the post of Assistant Professor of Zoology in Patna Science College and is associated with education charity. Both the police officers are youth icons in the district.

Shivdeep Wamanrao Lande has been the SP of Araria and during his tenure as SP, he has left an indelible mark in the district with the swift action taken against the criminals. During his time, all the criminals of the district had left the district and he was keeping the entire command of law and order maintenance in his hands regarding the peace and tranquility of the entire district. When the incidents happened, he himself reached the spot before the police station and detected many incidents on the spot. He was made a super cop in the district. Be it the ivory case in Forbesganj or the case of disappearance of dead body from the grave of Raniganj or socio-economic crimes, the action taken by him in all the cases is still captured in the minds of the people.

On the other hand, former DSP Akhilesh Kumar, a resident of Narpatganj block, is currently holding the post of Assistant Professor in Patna Science College and along with providing free education to the poor meritorious children of the district studying in Patna, he is also working as a career counselor. On returning home during vacation, he is engaged in career counseling along with providing free education in various local coaching centers along with village Jowar. Apart from this, he also guides the youth online. But dozens of youth of the district have achieved success in various competitive examinations. Akhilesh Kumar has previously contested the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections and his appeal to the voters during the election campaign that whether you vote or not, give your children to me for the future, I will guide them properly and make them responsible citizens along with getting government jobs, created a distinct place among the elderly voters in village Jwar. Even today, he is popular among the youth of rural areas. The education done by charity remains at the center of discussion.

This is the first election campaign of former IPS Shivdeep Wamanrao Lande, who has jumped into the electoral battle from Araria assembly constituency. Where he is in the electoral arena from Jamalpur in Munger along with Araria. He has filed nomination papers on his behalf at both the places. However, in Maharashtra politics, his father-in-law is the leader of Shiv Sena Shinde faction and Vijay Shivtare is the MLA of Purandar. In the Maharashtra government, he He has also been a minister and is a well-known industrialist of the country. His wife Dr. Mamta has established herself as an entrepreneur after serving in big hospitals of the country.

Whereas former DSP Akhilesh Kumar was in the electoral battle of Narpatganj in the last assembly elections and stood fourth as an independent candidate and got 4,891 votes. In the last Lok Sabha elections, he tried his luck and got 5,120 votes as an independent candidate in the Lok Sabha elections. In the election season of Bihar, two former police officers from Araria district are in the arena and how these two police officers get the love and trust of the public, will be known only in the results of the elections.
